*a new build would have the same tight grain, but possibly a slightly different shape, depending on where in the wood the slice is coming from.  If ordered on spec, I would send a picture before mailing to ensure it fits your needs. 

This piece was made from a slice of an ancient cedar, which was growing out of a cliff near Mazinaw Lake.  The grain is incredibly beautiful.
